The following explains the structure of the SayMoney application. The most important functions of the program are listed here.

1. Overview

1.1 Start page

In the overview there is an evaluation of expenses, income and the resulting available funds. Available funds describe the percentage of the credit balance of total income and serve as a key figure for your personal finances. Assume that the value in the current evaluation period is 2% higher than in the last. This would mean that you have reached 2% savings potential. Keep it up! Available funds are calculated as follows:

Balance (positive total balance) / total income × 100

In the upper area of the overview there is an overall evaluation that relates to all accounts. This includes account-related evaluations. Each evaluation can be shown and hidden with a click on the associated heading. A long click on a heading or a single click on a category will display the associated transactions. In addition, the expenditure and income of an evaluation period are summarized in the overview and displayed according to categories.

1.2 Filter

You can filter the overview as follows:

The "Carryover" filter determines whether or not previous transactions should be carried over into the next periods.

You can use the "Carryover (budget)" filter to carry over previous budgets into the next periods.

With the filter "Until today" you determine whether your transactions should be booked until today or in the future.

In this area you can manage and evaluate your transactions (bookings). You can create, change, delete, filter, sort, and search transactions. Transactions are presented in the form of a list. Transactions that belong to fixed payments or transferals and have a receipt or shopping list are marked with corresponding symbols. By pressing on a list element, the associated transaction can be opened and edited.
